CAUTIONARY TALES: The Blurry Line Between Collecting and Hoarding

  • WELLSPRING HEALTH COLLECTIVE 697 Valley St Maplewood, NJ, 07040 United States (map)

Want to release the clutter from your and forever?

If so, join Florence Weisz next Saturday, January 10th from 12 to 2pm
to explore why we clutter, collect or hoard, and the impact of too much.

Florence has teamed up with professional organizer & coach (Diane Thomson)
and documentary filmmaker (Kris Britt) to present a fascinating program called
KEEPING IT ALL, a workshop about our complex relationship with stuff:

On view are 16 of Florence Weisz's CAUTIONARY TALES: The Blurry Line Between Collecting and Hoarding
– collages and assemblages about the things we collect, the things we save…
and the reasons, justifications and excuses for keeping it all.

At the start of the first session Florence will take you on a brief tour of my solo exhibit. Florence will tell a few "Cautionary Tales" – some funny and silly and some touching and sad. Knowing how difficult it is for some of us to pare down our accumulated stuff, Florence will explain how, even if we have to downsize, or disband our collections, our treasured things can be encapsulated into a compact artwork, a representation we can keep forever.

The two sessions will be held on Saturdays, January 10 & 17, noon to 2 pm at the
697 Valley Street, Maplewood, NJ 07040  (enter from Pierson Road)

Pre-registration $39* - At door $49 - $25 for single session
